The Start
Photography was not some big plan for Rickhardo Terrones. It came naturally. He picked up a camera, started shooting, and felt something click. What stayed with him was the freedom. Taking a photo, shaping it in editing, printing it out, putting it on a wall, and knowing it came from him.
“I liked the freedom of being able to create and make pictures that could be printed up and displayed.”
In the beginning, his photos had a dreamy feel. Soft light. Sun rays. A hazy look that made everything feel a little unreal. As he kept going, his style grew. Now he lets the mood decide. Sometimes it is dreamy. Sometimes it is sharp and bold. He moves with the feeling instead of forcing one look.
Wide shots and strong backgrounds are a big part of his work. He wants the space around the subject to matter. The setting is not random. It adds to the feeling of the photo.
“The main theme I always end up returning to is a wide shot of the area I’m in. I always prioritize shooting with a great background.”
Inspiration
When he talks about inspiration, he brings up A$AP Rocky. It is the music, the fashion, the visuals, and the confidence that stand out to him. That bold presence pushed Rickhardo to take more risks and create images that feel strong and alive.
One shoot that means a lot to him was with model Tommy Nigro. The idea stayed in his head for months. A black suit in an abandoned space. Clean but gritty. He waited until the right model and location came together.
“It came out perfect exactly how I envisioned after months and months of waiting. Perfect model, perfect shots, perfect location. Huge shout out to Tommy and Eduardo.”
What He Stands On
Rickhardo has only been shooting for about eight months, but he takes his growth seriously. He pays attention to advice and keeps showing up ready to improve. The way he treats people matters just as much as the images he creates.
“Be kind and be respectful and be yourself.”
That belief shapes how he works and how he moves in the creative space. He values honest opinions because they help him see what works and what does not.
“I want people to like them, I want some people to dislike them, and tell me why.”
Real reactions help him sharpen his eye and push his ideas further. He is focused on getting better with every shoot and seeing how far his creativity can go.
“Keep making dope shit and don’t stop.”
