Drei's Style

Updated: Mar 14

"Fashion is a journey. You may not know what style or clothing feels like you, but with trial and error you'll get to YOUR style."

Some days it's minimalist, some days it's streetwear, whatever feels right. "I wear one or the other depending on my mood, and that's fine." He also thinks the two aren't as separate as people make them out to be. "Minimalist style can be streetwear," and there are endless ways to mix them.

His style journey started with his older brother's clothes, a Chicago Bulls jacket, some denim jeans. From there he found people on Instagram who inspired him, @Jeremyjamal, @ddraeb, Xiaoxiaowangg. "The little details they add into their fits are amazing." He takes what speaks to him and makes it his own.

More than how you look

"Fashion is more about how it makes you feel. How it makes you look is more about how people perceive you."

Getting dressed has helped him feel more comfortable in himself over time. "Fashion has definitely helped me be a lot more comfortable and confident in myself, being able to express myself in a way that needs no words or actions."

One of the most meaningful things in his wardrobe is a pair of beat up leather Oxford shoes. "They're beat up, dirty, the soles are dry rotted, but I still wear them and they work just fine." They don't have to be perfect. They just have to mean something.

On trends

Drei doesn't follow them unless they actually make sense for him. He looked at the leather tabis trend and passed. "I thought they were cool but they didn't really fit my style, so I never thought of getting them."

"Personal style over trends any day."
